Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich Update Coming Soon, BUT, already outdated!!!

Samsung has been busy updating many of their top smartphones in the new year, and one of them is the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket on AT&T. The new HD version showed up at CES 2012, and the main difference is the improved display that now comes on the 4G LTE-enabled device. But both are fast, thin, full-featured devices like most of Samsung’s pricier phones. The S2 Skyrocket HD improves on the original’s 800×480 pixels and introduces a true HD 1280×720 version of the Super AMOLED display.
Furthermore, the S2 Skyrocket HD brings new 4.65-inch screen to its HD format along with a removable battery and 9.3 mm thin profile. That makes it about a millimeter thinner than the original, and it adds an extra .15 inches to the screen size. Samsung hasn’t given any more details as far as pricing or availability, but the rest of the S2 Skyrocket HD’s features should match the original. That means a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, eight megapixel rear-acing camera, 16 gigabytes of storage, microSD card reader (expandable up to 32 GB), 1080p video capture, full gigabyte of memory and near field communication chip. Additionally, the S2 Skyrocket HD should include support for bluetooth 3.0 and get the Android 4.0 update soon after it debuts. It could be released with version 4.0 already to go, but Samsung has not said one way or the other.

The race seems won by Samsung, with the ever improving Google smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktop platforms, I BELIEVE, waaaay ahead of the Apple platform, especially bearing in mind the ever pressing consumer price consciousness.
